This wiki features educational resources for Indigenous Aboriginal education, field trips for educators, law and justice education, music education and outdoor, environmental and experiential education. Since our web site launch on September 27, 2006, online site statistics and web rankings indicate there are currently 1,888 pages and 20,185,651 page views using 7.85 Gig of bandwidth per month. Natuashish

"Natuashish is an Naskapi community in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The community is inhabited by the Mushuau Innu First Nation. Natuashish (Little Sango Pond)[1] was established in 2002 as a planned community in the hopes of resolving the social problems that had plagued the prior community of Davis Inlet, 15 km away.[2] Source: Wikipedia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natuashish>

"The Mushaua Innu and the Naskapi tribe were once the same people, speaking the same dialect and writing in syllabics, but split off and headed to Eastern Labrador, probably for sustainability reasons. Very few (if any) Mushuau Innu are able to write in syllabics any more. The majority of the tribe is Catholic, which use the Montagnais Bible (which does not use syllabics)." • Ottawa promises aid for Natuashish mould problems from CBC News Dec 17, 2011
  Labrador MP Peter Penashue says Ottawa is working with the community to have mould problems in Natuashish fixed. Peter Penashue is responding to a consultant's report that shows almost all the homes in the Innu community have a serious problem with mould. Penashue says the federal government has been working with the community and has money available for the repairs. But he says there has to be an official request from the chief and council.
  "Before we can move and transfer that money over to the band so they can deal with this issue, we need a proposal from them. And as soon as we get the proposal, we will move on the project," Penashue said. Penashue says Natuashish has only until the end of March to apply for the money. After then, it may not be available.
