The NEAO Circle was a professional learning and sharing network of educators, teachers, college instructors, university professors, Aboriginal elders and leaders. Through e-mail, they shared First Nation, Metis and Inuit and native studies resources, curriculum and teaching strategies that will help Canadian teachers integrate school curriculum with current cultural, environmental and historical contributions of our Canadian First Nations, Inuit and Metis brothers and sisters.

1. Indigenous Environmental Network is a network of Indigenous Peoples empowering Indigenous Nations and communities towards sustainable livelihoods, demanding environmental justice and maintaining the Sacred Fire of our traditions.
2. Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER) CIER is a national, First Nation-directed environmental non-profit organisation with charitable status and is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. CIER was founded in 1994 by a small group of First Nation leaders from across Canada who recognised the need for Aboriginal peoples to have the capacity to solve environmental problems affecting their lands and resources. CIER Research library includes information on Biodiversity, Climate Change - Adaptation, Climate Change - General, Community Planning, Conservation, Indigenous Knowledge, Renewable Energy and Water
3. Indigenous Environmental Education for Cultural Survival (PDF) by Leanne Simpson, Trent University, Canada. Aboriginal Peoples are facing a number of serious and complex environmental issues within their territories. Post-secondary environmental education programs in Canada have been slow to adopt curriculum and develop programs to meet the needs of Aboriginal students and their communities. This manuscript outlines necessary components of successful Indigenous environmental education programs at the post-secondary level based on the author’s participation in three such programs as a program developer/director, curriculum developer and instructor, the current literature, and, in addition, her experiences as an Anishinaabe student studying Western science.
