Deepening Environmental Education in Pre-Service Education Resource-2014
This guide is a way to capture and share the extensive expertise of the roundtable participants in formulating a new vision for pre-service environmental education in the province. This vision includes an articulation of a set of core competencies for all teacher candidates in Ontario, as well as a comprehensive set of strategies, practices and recommended resources to make this vision a reality. Published in 2014 by OISE, Natural Curiosity and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
Bark Lake Leadership Centre
Bark Lake Leadership Centre's mission is to provide excellent, experiential, and educational programs in a unique and natural setting. Our entire program is tailored made for a focused, challenging, and character building leadership experience for national and international participants. With our affiliations with Universities, Colleges, the Ministry of Education, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, we ensure our programs are consistent with current and developing curriculum and practice standards.
Boyd Archaeological Field School
Boyd Archaeological Field School provides a course over a three week period, where students develop and master interdisciplinary knowledge and skills through the exploration of Aboriginal and Euro-Canadian histories. The course includes lectures and hands-on work at an archaeological site under the instruction of certified teachers and archaeologists. The Boyd Archaeological Field School, recipient of the 2005 Peggy Armstrong Public Archaeology Award, is entering its 33rd year of operation under the sponsorship of the Continuing Education Department of the York Region Board of Education with assistance from a number of partners.
This summer course includes accommodation for a range of abilities and needs. Students will earn a Grade 12 University Prep Credit in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDC4U).
The course instructors include Ontario teachers, licensed archaeologists, Aboriginal educators and respected professionals in a variety of specialties.
Ecology of the Night
- Ecology of the Night was an educational Symposium, held at the Leslie M. Frost Centre, September 22-24, 2003. "Scientists are now finding that light pollution, and the lack of darkness at night, have a major effect on the natural world and even on human health."

Greening the Way Ontario Learns is a Public Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Environmental Literacy was released in October 2003.

The Frost Centre Institute
The Frost Centre Institute campus includes 20 buildings on 40 acres nestled in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, just South of Dorset, Ontario. With 2,500 feet of lake frontage on Lake St. Nora and direct access to groomed hiking (or skiing) trails located on 58,000 acres of crown land adjacent to the campus, the Centre offers a truly one-of-a-kind environment for experiential learning and outdoor education.

Archaeology Events with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority
The archaeological community has long recognized that the unique riverine association of TRCA lands provides an unlimited potential for our lands to hold archaeological resources. Recognizing the heritage value of the archaeological resources on its lands, TRCA, working with the province, prepared an Archaeological Master Plan that documented archaeological sites and made recommendations for the proper management of these resources. As a result, in 1988, TRCA adopted The Archaeological Heritage Strategy as an integrated component of the Greenspace Plan for the Greater Toronto Region. The intent of this program is to present a balanced and integrated program of inventory, management and interpretation for archaeological heritage resources.
