David Spencer's Education Paragon is a free educational resource portal helping David Spencer's secondary school students, their parents and teaching colleagues with understanding, designing, applying and delivering assessment, curriculum, educational resources, evaluation and literacy skills accurately and effectively. This wiki features educational resources for Indigenous Aboriginal education, field trips for educators, law and justice education, music education and outdoor, environmental and experiential education. Since our web site launch on September 27, 2006, online site statistics and web rankings indicate there are currently 1,888 pages and 20,185,651 page views using 7.85 Gig of bandwidth per month. Pages are written, edited, published and hosted by Brampton, Ontario, Canada based educator David Spencer. What is The Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario?

The Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario (COEO) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that promotes safe and high quality outdoor education experiences for people of all ages. It also acts as a professional body for outdoor educators in the province of Ontario. These aims are achieved through publishing Pathways: The Ontario Journal of Outdoor Education as well as an electronic newsletter, running an annual conference and regional workshops, maintaining this web site, and working with kindred organizations as well as government agencies. Workshops Presented at COEO Conferences by David Spencer

The following are titles of workshops presented at COEO: Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario Conferences by David Spencer.

1. "Where Would We Be Without Music?"
   Songs can impact our lives as outdoor educators. Songs can inspire at our current place of employment. Songs can take us back to memories of a summer camp, a canoe trip or a moonlight rendezvous by snowshoe. Song lyrics can feed the fire of learning and inspire us to act on the environment, peace, relationships and social justice.Presented by David Spencer at the COEO Fall Conference at Camp Muskoka in Bracebridge, Ontario on September 24, 2022.
2. "Songs that Change the World"
   Music connects people of all ages, languages and cultural backgrounds. David and COEO volunteers are assembling a cell phone friendly songbook to be used for singsongs at summer camps, outdoor ed centres, classrooms and around the campfire. Join us to listen, read lyrics, play and select songs that build community, respect and understanding of cultures and our natural environment. We’ll strive to protect copyright and include sheet music, notes, chords, lyrics and links to Youtube videos. Please bring your voice, guitar and/or favourite musical instrument.

3. "The Lake Less Travelled"
   Creative critical thinking does not only happen in a boardroom. This workshop will challenge you to think and work with others from the comfort of a canoe. We’ll consider the value of community environmental action projects and how we could use music and photography to explore our spirituality. We’ll consider solutions for potential social bonding barriers such as lack of reflection and technology addiction.

4. Warm Up with Twitter Many educators are using Twitter to build their PLN (professional learning network), discover new edtech (education technology), discover current trends and news as they happen and rally colleagues who are willing to take risks with technology outdoors.
   Presented by David Spencer on Saturday January 17, 2015 during "Make Peace with Winter 2015 Conference" held at Mono Cliffs Outdoor Education Centre in Mono, Ontario.
5. "Paddle Like a Loon: Exploring Indigenous Connections in Canoeing"
   This interactive workshop will introduce you to the significance of the canoe in Indigenous culture and the historical and economic importance of the canoe to the European expansion across Ontario. Basic canoeing skills will be taught for beginner tandem and solo canoeing on Kabakwa Lake.
